Protein-Packed Rice

Upgrade your everyday rice with this protein-packed basmati rice recipe made with just three simple ingredients: basmati rice, bone broth, and kosher salt.

Ingredients

1 cup Ralston Family Farms Basmati Rice

1-1½ cups high-protein bone broth (chicken or beef; look for 8–10g protein per cup) 

1 pinch kosher salt 


Instructions

*Rinse rice under cold water until clear to remove excess starch for a light, fluffy texture.

 

Stove Top Method

Best for: classic texture + most control

  1. In a pot, combine 1 cup rice, 1½ cups bone broth, and a pinch kosher salt then bring to boil. 
  2. Stir, cover, reduce heat to low, and simmer 15 minutes. 
  3. Remove from heat and keep covered to let steam 10 minutes. 
  4. Fluff and enjoy! 

 

Rice Cooker Method

Best for: set-it-and-forget-it convenience

  1. In a rice cooker, combine 1 cup rice, 1½ cups bone broth, and a pinch kosher salt then select white rice function.
  2. Once done, let steam 5 minutes. 
  3. Fluff and enjoy! 

 

Instant Pot Method

Best for: fastest cook time

  1. In instant pot, combine 1 cup rice, 1 cup bone broth, and a pinch kosher salt then cook on high pressure for 6 minutes.  For softer texture, add an extra ¼ cup broth.
  2. Allow natural release for 10 minutes, then quick release. 
  3. Fluff and enjoy!
